BIOL 411 - Comparative Biomechanics (3 units) This course will review bio-material properties, muscles, scaling laws, animal sensory systems and central pattern generators. Students will learn about jumping fleas, sliding slugs, flying flies, gripping geckos, trotting turkeys, and so much more. (BIOL 411 and ME 411 are cross-listed; credits may be earned in one of the two.)
Prerequisite(s):MATH 181 with a “C” or better; ME 311 with a “C’ or better or BIOL 316 with a “C” or better.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years
