NEUR 661M - Neurology Sub-Internship (0 units) This elective rotation provides students with the experience of evaluating, treating, and managing patients with neurological disorders. Under the direct supervision and mentorship of attending physicians and/or midlevel practitioners, students will assess, diagnose, and manage treatment for patients.
Prerequisite(s): medical student.
Grading Basis: Medical School Units of Internship/Practicum: 1 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. interview and examine patients with neurological complaints. 2. demonstrate an understanding of neurological conditions, their diagnosis and management. 3. identify best practices for recommending treatment options used for neurological conditions. 4. demonstrate ability to diagnose and treat neurological emergencies.
