HDFS 796 - Professional Paper (1 to 3 units) M.S. in Human Development & Family Science students who choose not to complete a thesis must register for this course to complete a portfolio, project, synthesis paper, or curriculum on a scholarly topic. Students must obtain approval from their graduate committees before registering for the course.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a mastery of theories of development and family science, emphasizing the specific research fields in their course of study, as identified by their committees. 2. demonstrate the capacity to apply developmental science in the explanation of current challenges presented to individuals and families in the community and society at large. 3. demonstrate the capacity to interpret and evaluate empirical data in the explanation of developmental sciences and family sciences.
