HDFS 797 - Thesis (1 to 6 units) Students will conduct original research, under faculty supervision, and write a thesis. This option requires approval from the student’s graduate committee.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a mastery of theories of development and family science, emphasizing the specific research fields in their course of study, as identified by their committees. 2. demonstrate the capacity to apply developmental science in the explanation of current challenges presented to individuals and families in the community and society at large. 3. demonstrate the capacity to interpret and evaluate empirical data in the explanation of developmental sciences and family sciences. 4. conduct and defend original research, under faculty supervision.
