NURS 332 - Pathophysiology and Pharmacology II (3 units) Major pathophysiologic concepts related to the endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, musculoskeletal, and integumentary systems.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Nursing major.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a working knowledge of basic pathophysiologic and pharmacologic concepts as they relate to endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, integumentary and musculoskeletal systems. 2. discuss etiologies and pathogenesis of common disease processes of endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, integumentary and musculoskeletal systems. 3. differentiate between categories of medications affecting endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, integumentary and musculoskeletal systems. 4. develop a working knowledge of medications, their mechanisms of actions and nursing management specific to common disease processes of endocrine, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, integumentary and musculoskeletal systems. 5. describe the physiologic factors of disease processes that are affected by drug therapy.
