PHYS 182 - Physics for Scientists and Engineers III (3 units) Reflection and refraction of light, optical systems, interference, diffraction, polarization, relativity, quantum physics, atoms, molecules, solids, nuclei and radioactivity, elementary particles.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 283 ; PHYS 181 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate problem solving skills in various types of problems in physics using quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and appropriate mathematical techniques. 2. demonstrate the ability of use scientific methods to understand and explain concepts in physics. 3. connect physics concepts and problems to their world.
