PSY 748 - Community Psychology (3 units) Mental health problems of population, including psychological epidemiology and mental health needs of communities. Mental health consultation and education. Crisis intervention.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain the differences between primary and secondary prevention. 2. design primary and secondary prevention interventions. 3. explain the differences between individual and community levels of analysis. 4. explain the differences between clinical psychology and community psychology in theory and practice. 5. evaluate community level prevention and intervention programs.
