EDSP 727 - Philosophical Foundations of Behavior Analysis in Education (3 units) Introduction to the philosophical underpinnings of behavior analysis, with particular emphasis on how the philosophy of behaviorism has contributed to our understanding of behavior change in special education settings.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. distinguish the science of behavior from the philosophy of behaviorism. 2. identify how the philosophy of behavior has influenced the work that they do in special education settings. 3. use the terms and concepts of behavior analysis in a technically accurate manner. 4. provide behavior analytic interpretations of various types of behavior.
