ART 492 - Individual Studies I (3 units) CO14 Individual studies in areas of two- or three-dimensional work and art history.
Maximum units a student may earn: 6
Prerequisite(s): General Education courses (CO1-CO3) completed; at least 3 courses from CO4-CO8 completed; Junior or Senior standing; 300-400 Level Studio Art Course. Instructor permission required.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. design individual project(s) that apply advanced skills, theory and research for creative production in a studio art setting, including advanced problem solving skills to build individual projects from vision to completion. 2. perform advanced competencies utilizing advanced techniques in area of artistic background. 3. develop individual research projects that analyze and incorporate contemporary practices in the areas of art theory and social practices. 4. synthesize and communicate knowledge and advanced analytical skills in visual arts. 5. perform advanced skills in discussion, critique and writing about their creative practice and others while illustrating research skills in project development. 6. express how technical and conceptual elements of the project address or challenge past or current visions of diversity and inclusivity in the arts.
