THTR 105 - Introduction to Acting I (3 units) CO7 Lecture, discussion, and performance encompassing the philosophy and techniques of interpretation, acting and directing. May not be taken for audit.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a critical understanding of text and character as examined in studio practice and verbal and written responses to readings and attended plays. 2. demonstrate the use of the self and the ability to magnify presence through the speaking body onstage. 3. demonstrate informed knowledge of the main theatrical elements and how they relate to acting.
