GRC 200 - Design Thinking & Methodologies (3 units) CO7 Advanced techniques in Adobe Creative Cloud Software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Acrobat). Students will broaden their techniques for ideation, process, and effective design thinking and analysis. Graphic Design majors or minors must earn at least a “C”; majors/minors may repeat GRC courses once.
Prerequisite(s): GRC 116 with a “C” or better.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Laboratory/Studio: 3 Offered: Every Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. use design thinking in response to visual communication problems that lead to well-grounded and creative conclusions. 2. produce well-supported positions that thoroughly and respectfully consider alternative viewpoints in class discussion, critique, and written assignment. 3. demonstrate the design process from sketch phase to final printed product. 4. discuss historical achievements, current major issues, processes, and directions in graphic design. 5. demonstrate improvement in their basic design software skills.
