IDS 495 - Interdisciplinary Studies Capstone (3 units) CO14 Complete and present a portfolio demonstrating a synthesis of the student’s areas of study. Portfolio may include a comprehensive report, specialized field experience, internship, or creative production reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of the plan of study.
Prerequisite(s): General Education courses (CO1-CO3) completed; at least 3 courses from CO4-CO8 completed; Junior or Senior standing.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall, Spring, and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. contribute to critical conversatins about interdisciplinary theory and practice. 2. transfer knowledge and skills gained from general and specialized studies to new settings and problems. 3. critically and systematically applying interdisciplinary research methods and contrasting theories in examining their topic. 4. articulate the role of an interdisciplinary studies degree to a student’s career or academic goals. 5. create a substantial, interdisciplinary, original work using sound evidence. 6. make their capstone projects and research interests accessible to broader audiences.
