NURS 488 - Nursing Leadership Application (3 units) CO14 This practicum focuses on developing nursing leadership skills through the application of nursing leadership theory and management principles. An improvement project topic is identified, analyzed, and a plan for change is developed.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. analyze one’s own leadership style relative to their practice environment and organizational expectations. 2. articulate the role of the nurse leader in influencing the effectiveness of a healthcare organization. 3. examine how organizational culture is influenced by internal and external factors. 4. translate and integrate best available evidence and theories to develop a plan for an organizational or clinical project in a selected setting or with a defined population.
