BCH 496 - Scientific Communication Masterclass (1 unit) CO9 Effective communication of fundamental advances in science using subject matter from fundamental research on adaptations and biotechnological solutions to a changing environment brought about by global warming. (BCH 496 and JOUR 496 are cross-listed; credit may be earned in one of the two.)

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. communicate the relationship between scientific and technological research and solving real-world problems by explaining how science can relate to and solve problems of societal concern. 2. communicate relationships between science and societal issues using data visualization fundamentals. 3. demonstrate storytelling skills about scientific discoveries. 4. demonstrate skills to communicate the project aims, methodologies, key concepts, expected outcomes, and significant research to the broader public.
