ART 745 - Modes of Thought (3 units) This seminar introduces research methods and critical reading, the history of the modern and postmodern cannon, and writing on contemporary issues. Maximum of 6 credits.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a refined familiarity with reading, writing and researching via critical texts and contemporary issues in the art world and beyond. 2. demonstrate an understanding of how their individual practices are part of a complex cultural community through discussions and critiques. 3. engage with their work through an interdisciplinary lens in relation to contemporary cannons of critical theory.
