Master’s and Doctoral Programs
The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources offers four master of science degree programs. Programs requiring a thesis are available with majors in:

The college also houses a novel five year B.S./M.S. degree program in Biotechnology . Students may also specialize in occupational education in a cooperative program with the College of Education. The course of study leads to a master of education degree with a major in secondary education.
The College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources offers a doctoral degree in:
and participates in other doctoral degree programs jointly with other colleges. The joint degree offerings include:
- Cellular and Molecular Biology (in the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, the College of Science, as well as the School of Medicine);
- Ecology, Evolution and Conservation Biology (College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, the College of Science, and the Desert Research Institute);
- Environmental Sciences (College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, the College of Science, and the School of Community Health Sciences),
- Hydrologic Sciences (Colleges of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, College of Engineering, College of Science and the Desert Research Institute), and
- Economics (College of Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources and the College of Business).

Graduate Offerings
Both major-minor and area of concentration programs are available at the graduate level. The master’s programs include both Plan A (requiring the completion of a thesis) and Plan B (non-thesis). Students must earn 30 credits to complete Plan A and 32 credits to complete Plan B.
The graduate plan of study is developed by the student and the advisory committee. The study program must meet the minimum requirements listed in the Graduate School section of this catalog. Students must also meet any additional requirements specified by the advisory committee or the related department(s).
The doctor of philosophy degree is primarily a research degree with a course of study determined by the student and an advisory committee. The program must meet the minimum requirements listed in the Graduate School section of this catalog.
Graduate research assistantships are available. Applications should be submitted to the appropriate department.
