II. Description

The Statistics minor will provide a foundation in the basic principles of statistics and probability and exposure to the standard techniques of analyzing and reasoning with data. Students in most disciplines will benefit from a minor in statistics. A minor in both statistics and in mathematics is not allowed. Contact the Department of Mathematics and Statistics for more details.

III. Program Requirements (21 units)

A. Required Courses

MATH 181 - Calculus I (4 units) CO2
MATH 182 - Calculus II (4 units)
MATH 283 - Calculus III (4 units)
STAT 452 - Introduction to Regression and Linear Models (3 units)
Additional MATH or STAT courses related to statistics numbered 300 - 499 with approval of a mathematics and statistics faculty advisor (3 units)
STAT 352 - Probability and Statistics (3 units)
