Description
The department offers a Bachelor of Science with a major in Geography. The Bachelor of Science emphasizes proficiency in physical geography, geospatial methods, and human/environment interactions and develops skills in mathematics and statistics. All students are required to have a minor. Students are encouraged to develop with their advisors an individualized program of study within the degree. The department emphasizes the integration of human and physical geography and encourages the use of geospatial technologies (GIS, Remote Sensing, and Cartography). Our specialties include the American West, biogeography, climatology, cultural historical geography, land use planning and water resources. Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned departmental advisor every semester.

It is recommended that students consult with a undergraduate adviser in selecting Physical Geography courses from list below. Student must choose from upper division courses, 300 level and above within the Geography program.

Students may complete any minor approved by the University, except that students may not receive credit for both a minor and a major in the same discipline. Completion of a second major or degree approved by the university satisfies this requirement.
