II. Description

Coursework in the Minor of Geography emphasizes physical and cultural geography. The specific course of study will be determined in conjunction with a departmental advisor. Departmental specialties include the American West, biogeography, climatology, cultural historical geography, land use planning and water resources.

III. Program Requirements (18 units)

Students majoring in another field may minor in Geography by completing the following:

A. Required Courses

GEOG 103 - Physical Geography of the Earth’s Environment (3 to 4 units) CO4L OR
GEOG 121 - Climate Change and Its Environmental Impacts (4 units) CO4L
GEOG 106 - Introduction to Cultural Geography (3 units) CO6, CO11
An additional 11-12 units, nine of which must be upper-division, are determined in conjunction with a departmental advisor (12 units)
