A minor in Middle Eastern Studies is offered through the College of Liberal Arts. It is supported by Arabic language instruction on campus and by Hebrew and Turkish language instruction available through the University of Nevada, Reno’s University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC) programs in Israel and Turkey.
Students must complete 18 credits in courses relating to the histories, languages, and cultures of the Middle East. At least 12 must come from Group A (including up to 6 from language courses), while 6 may come from courses with a broader geographic and cultural focus, Group B. In total, 12 credits must be earned in courses numbered 300 or above. Courses taken through USAC and other approved study abroad programs may be used to complete the minor.
