General Business, B.S. in Bus. Ad.


The General Business major expands on the strong business foundation developed in the pre-business and upper-division business coursework.  The purpose of the major is to provide an option for students who are limited by work or other obligations in scheduling coursework by allowing students to complete major-related coursework during more flexibly-scheduled evening classes.

Student Learning Outcomes

Admission Requirements


All students who are interested in graduating with a B.S. in Business degree in General Business start by being declared as “pre-majors.” Pre-majors must complete Core Writing, Core Mathematics, the Pre-Business Core, and a total of 60 units before meeting with an advisor to declare the General Business major. Students must declare their major before they may take any courses in the Upper-Division Business Core.

  • Residency Requirement | 30 Upper-Division Units at UNR
  • Major Residency Requirement | 15 Upper-Division Units in the major at UNR

  • Half Program Units/4 Year Institution | 60 Units
  • Business Course Time Limit | Coursework used to complete College of Business and Major requirements must have been completed within the 10 years prior to the year of graduation.
