Biochemistry, Minor

Biochemistry examines the tiniest components of life science – the cells – which gives its students a uniquely formative view of living things. When compared with broader-based subjects, Biochemistry is narrower in focus but no less important. Biochemistry ‘s exploration of cells and the chemical processes within them helps drive countless scientific advancements, including those aimed at eradicating disease and improving human health.

As a minor, Biochemistry can complement virtually any life-science major. A Biology major who understands more about organisms at the cellular level is well-equipped to build a deeper understanding of the science behind all life. Additionally, the laboratory experience that Biochemistry fosters is a great asset for virtually any student in the sciences. The same is true for the critical thinking skills the subject imparts.
