For students with majors in another field, The Department of Music offers two Music Minor tracks. Both tracks emphasize the development of an appreciation for different music genres, knowledge of music theory, exposure to the history of music, and applied experience in ensemble playing.

I. Program Requirements (20-21 units)
Students with majors in another field may minor in music by completing the following:
A. Core Courses (9 units)
B. Major ensembles (3 units)
C. Instrumental or vocal instruction (3 units)
D. Electives in music courses numbered 300 - 499 (5-6 units)
NOTE: These electives may include upper-division units earned in ensembles (MUSE) and/or instrumental/vocal instruction (MUSA). Students must complete a minimum of 9 units in courses numbered 300 - 499. |
