Religious Studies, Minor

Religious Studies is an 18 unit minor offered through the Department of Anthropology in the College of Liberal Arts. Students in the minor will employ a variety of disciplinary perspectives to understand religious thought and practice within diverse historical, intellectual and socio-cultural contexts. Students also will grapple with fundamental questions concerning the nature of religion and its continuing relevance to contemporary life in a rapidly globalizing world.

I. Program Requirements (18 units)
- Minor GPA | 2. 0
- Minor Upper-Division Units | 9
- Minor Residency Requirement | 6 Upper-Division Units in the minor at UNR
- Unit Limits| Per College of Liberal Arts policy, no more than 9 units counted toward any major may be reused to meet the requirements of this minor.
A. Required courses (6 units)
B. Electives (12 units)
Students are required to take six units of electives from group A. The remaining courses may be from either Group A or Group B for a total of twelve elective units.
Courses not listed below may be included subject to approval by the Religious Studies board.
Group A (6-12 units)
Group A electives have the analysis of religion as a primary course goal.
Group B (0-6 units)
Group B electives focus course content on another subject area with religion as a significant course component.
