Pre-Nursing Program

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Programs in the School of Public Health

Students who select a pre-nursing course of study are declared in a Public Health degree plan with an interest in Pre-nursing.  Pre-nursing students will progress in the Public Health degree plan while completing the Core General Education requirements and pre-nursing prerequisites. Only students whose Core General Education requirements and Pre-Nursing prerequisites have been completed or are in-progress may apply for admission to the nursing program. A “C” is the minimum grade required in all coursework used to satisfy pre-nursing prerequisites and the requirements for the nursing degree. Admission to the B.S.N. program is highly competitive and is not guaranteed to students who successfully complete the course of study described below.

Following the Nursing program application process, students who are admitted must complete all of the requirements for the Nursing, B.S.N.  prior to posting of their degree.

Students who are not admitted to the B.S.N. program may work toward completion of the Public Health, B.S.  or work with their advisor to pursue an alternative degree.
