The College of Liberal Arts offers an undergraduate minor in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies under the direction of the Department of World Languages and Literatures.  Students in the minor will study American Sign Language and the unique community for which it is a native and natural language. The Deaf Community embodies an intersectional population that is both a disability group and a linguistic minority. Students who complete this course of study will be equipped to communicate and work with a diverse spectrum of sign language users and interact with them in culturally sensitive ways.  Nineteen units are required, nine units must be upper division courses (300-499), and at least six must be completed at the University of Nevada, Reno campus.
