ART 606 - Creative Problem Solving (3 units) A studio field course emphasizing creative problem solving, connecting individual skill sets with diverse ways of thinking. Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. create finished artworks that utilize their voices and demonstrate the complexities of context in individual form. 2. design and execute artworks from a sustainable ethical practice. 3. demonstrate an understanding of the entrepreneurial spirit, and define possible relationships to their practice in writing or form and be capable of creative interdisciplinary responses to potential opportunities. 4. produce a art practice mission/artist statement that incorporates a conceptual framework, creative problem-solving strategies to address specific issues, and a personal ethical position with regard to nature and culture.

ART 750 - Collaborative Strategies (3 units) In this seminar students integrate collaborative art-making into their practice. Particular emphasis will be placed on the value that different voices and perspectives add to the artwork’s complexity as students develop their Thesis Exhibition.
