Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Programs

An accelerated bachelor’s/master’s program allows outstanding University of Nevada, Reno students to obtain both a baccalaureate and a master’s degree in an accelerated timeframe. To be eligible you must have completed at least 75 credits toward the bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 or 3.2 (program dependent) UNR GPA, which typically occurs at the end of the junior year. Students will complete the Accelerated Bachelor’s/Master’s Program form and submit the completed form to the Graduate School. Between 3- 12 graduate credits taken during the student’s undergraduate career may be applied towards both the undergraduate and graduate program (program depending, see catalog copy). Many of the Master’s Programs involved in the accelerated programs are designated as Western Regional Graduate Programs (WRGP). The designation as a WRGP allows nonresident students from 15 Western U.S. states to avoid nonresident tuition (program depending, inquire with the program).

During the student’s senior year, students will apply for admission to the Graduate School. Students must meet all Graduate School and departmental requirements for admission. This may include a GPA and/or GRE requirement. As part of the admission process, students must select a faculty advisor for their program. Students are not eligible to be admitted to the graduate program until they complete their undergraduate program.

Contact the department offering the graduate component of the accelerated program for a list of the specific undergraduate courses that must be completed prior to submission of this application and later to submit the completed application.
