CS 482 - Artificial Intelligence (3 units) Problem solving, search, and game trees. Knowledge representation, inference, and rule-based systems. Semantic networks, frames, and planning. Introduction to machine learning, neural-nets, and genetic algorithms.
Prerequisite(s): CS 302 ; CS 365 .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall - Odd Years Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will have an ability to apply knowledge of computing, mathematics, science, and engineering. 2. Students will have an ability to design and conduct experiments, as well as to analyze and interpret data. 3. Students will have an ability to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs, within realistic constraints specific to the field. 4. Students will have an ability to analyze a problem, and identify, formulate and use the appropriate computing and engineering requirements for obtaining its solution. 5. Students will have an ability to use current techniques, skills, and tools necessary for computing and engineering practice. 6. Students will have an ability to apply mathematical foundations, algorithmic principles, and computer science and engineering theory in the modeling and design of computer-based systems in a way that demonstrates comprehension of the tradeoffs involved in design choices.
