Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of mineral optics through written examinations.
2. Students will be able to identify minerals and rock fabrics using a petrographic microscope, as demonstrated through written and laboratory practical examinations.
3. Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the compositional variation, crystalline structure, and typical occurrences of the rock-forming minerals through written and laboratory practical examinations.
