IS 350 - Business Systems Development (3 units)
Basic concepts of business information systems development using the Visual Basic language. Emphasis on logic structures, programming design, system testing and documentation.
Prerequisite(s): IS 201 ; Business major or minor.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to explain business information systems development in general and Visual Basic application development in particular.
2. Students will be able to identify and use procedural language programming constructs including; sequence, selection, and repetition clauses.
3. Students will be able to use Visual Basic’s Design Studio including: VB form controls, control properties, file processing standards, and object methods.
4. Students will be able to apply naming conventions for, and the uses of, Visual Basic form controls, data types, programming variables, list boxes, combo boxes, data arrays, and control arrays.
5. Students will be able to explain and use the concepts of event-driven programming and file processing alternatives.
6. Students will be able to explain the reasons for creating, and methods for preparing, internal and external program documentation.
