IS 460 - Internet Programming II

(3 units)
Business application development in the specialized client/server environment of the WWW. Current e-commerce applications serve as patterns for the course project.

Prerequisite(s): IS 350 ; IS 360 ; Business major or minor.

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to assess the role of server-side processing in Web applications.
2. Students will be able to create applications that operate with core ASP.NET concepts such as state management (session state and view state).
3. Students will be able to create applications that read data from a Microsoft SQL Server database.
4. Students will be able to create applications that perform transactional database updates.
5. Students will be able to identify and describe the concepts related to a Web Service and create a simple Web Service and client to test that server using the Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern.
