MATH 123 - Statistical and Geometrical Concepts for Elementary School Teachers (3 units) Continuation of MATH 122 . (This course does not satisfy the university core mathematics requirement.)
Prerequisite(s): MATH 122 .
Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall and Spring Student Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this course: 1. Students will be able to identify, classify, and discuss basic geometric shapes used in K-8 classrooms. 2. Students will be able to apply and invent formulas for volume, area, surface area and perimeter on basic geometric shapes and extensions of those shapes. 3. Students will be able to calculate statistical formulas including mean, mode, median, standard deviation and range on small data sets and interpret their meanings.
