SCI 425 - Ethics in Science (1 unit) CO12
Ethics in Science aims to provide formal training in the ethical questions and problems that arise in scientific and professional environments.
Prerequisite(s): Successful completion of a 300 level course in the College of Science (e.g. ATMS 317 , BIOL 300 , CHEM 341 , PHYS 301 , GEOG 325 , MATH 330 ).

Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this course:
1. Students will be able to identify and analyze an ethical issue in the context of science or technology.
2. Students will be able to identify the various ethical interests in a real-world situation.
3. Students will be able to articulate what makes a particular course of action ethically defensible.
4. Students will be able to identify ethical concerns in research, including academic integrity, use and citation of sources, the objective presentation of data, and the treatment of human subjects.
5. Students will be able to integrate, synthesize, and apply knowledge of ethical dilemmas and resolutions to real world issues.
