MUS 234 - Recording Techniques and Midi II (2 units) Advanced musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) applications in computer sequencing with analog tape recording; includes computer sequencing, synthesizer programming effects.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 233 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. use a Pro Tools Digital Audio Workstation. 2. demonstrate mixing concepts such as volume, panning, compression, noise gates, EQ, reverb, delay and automation. 3. demonstrate micing techniques for drum set, bass, guitar, piano, organ & vocals. They will engineer a one song demo with live players.
