MUS 414 - Choral Literature (2 units) History and analysis of representative choral works from 1600 to the present.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 341 ; MUS 342 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 2 Offered: Every Fall - Even Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. discuss choral literature from each stylistic musical period. 2. build a library of choral literature from each stylistic musical period. 3. demonstrate understanding of the stylistic differences through gesture and conducting technique. 4. present a document consisting of at least two scores from each period providing in depth analysis and historical background.
