Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. analyze the cultural contexts of specific musical pieces and traditions in jazz.
2. apply their historical and cultural knowledge of jazz music to the analysis of specific pieces of music.
3. demonstrate the aural and visual skills necessary to achieve an analytical perspective on unfamiliar musical forms.
