ART 411 - Advanced Ceramics I (3 units) CO14 Continuation of ART 312 with special emphasis on clay compounds, glazes and glaze formulation, kiln firing and temperature control.

Prerequisite(s): ART 260 ; 6 credits of ART 312 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. develop and refine a personal direction in concept and visualization to create a cohesive body of work in addressing social and cultural issues. (CO14) 2. apply self-motivated and self-critical working habits in studio work and research practices. 3. synthesize and communicate technical, theoretical, and conceptual aspects of making art through studio work and critique sessions. 4. integrate professional practice methods through the development of artist statements, work documentation, and presentation strategies to relate to the current art world. (CO14) 5. demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate their research findings in written and oral form. (CO14)
