AM 148 - American Sign Language IV (3 units) Using the language skills learned in AM 147 , students will broaden their vocabulary and communication skills using sign language.

Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring and Summer
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. use ASL sentence structures, including: time/dates + object/subject/topic + verb, sentences with identifying nouns, using “finish” directional verbs, and verbs with an emphasis on classifiers and hand shapes. 2. Use object descriptions, classifiers of objects and things, food, cooking instructions and recipes, weather, holidays, activities and events, dates, addresses, cost of things, character descriptions, fable storytelling. 3. discuss important news events, discuss family and activities in depth. 4. narrate about weekend activities, interact with others by using in-depth vocabulary explanations and responses, able to use structured CL: skills in a storytelling format.
