CHE 475 - Principles of Bioengineering (3 units) Introduction to bioengineering principles and application to engineering processes. Topics include cell growth, industrial fermentation, pharmaceutical processing, waste treatment, mass transfer, bioreactor design and control.
Prerequisite(s): CHEM 121A and CHEM 121L or CHEM 201 ; Junior or Senior standing.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Spring - Even Years
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts. 2. acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
