HDFS 795 - Comprehensive Examination (3 units) Course is used by graduate programs to administer comprehensive examinations either as an end of program comprehensive examination or as a qualifying examination for doctoral candidates prior to being advanced to candidacy.

Grading Basis: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Units of Independent Study: 3 units Offered: Every Fall and Spring
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. demonstrate a mastery of theories of development and family science, emphasizing the specific research fields in their course of study, as identified by their committees. 2. demonstrate the capacity to apply developmental science in the explanation of current challenges presented to individuals and families in the community and society at large. 3. demonstrate the capacity to interpret and evaluate empirical data in the explanation of developmental sciences and family sciences.
