MUS 301 - Music Theory III (3 units) Continuation of MUS 203-204, including study of diatonic and chromatic harmony.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 203 ; MUS 204 .
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 3 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. compose a 4 part chorale which modulates to a closely related key using a pivot chord modulation. 2. demonstrate their ability to analyze and discuss large pieces of music composed by Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. 3. demonstrate their ability to identify the form of large pieces of music by ear.
