Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. explain physiology and pathophysiology of select processes related to families, children, and childbearing individuals.
2. identify appropriate communication strategies based on developmental stage to promote positive client interactions and outcomes.
3. describe specialized health and nursing interventions for diverse families, children, and childbearing individuals.
4. analyze client data and presentation to prioritize care needs.
5. develop an individualized plan in collaboration with the client and support unit to provide safe care.
6. identify risk factors that lead to potential complications to limit and respond to health inequities.
7. evaluate client response to plan of care to guide future interventions.
8. understand family dynamics and its impact on the health and care of the client.
9. develop professional nursing practice and self-advocacy strategies.
10. examine legal and ethical issues and professional practice standards specific to diverse families, children, and childbearing individuals.
