SPA 799 - Dissertation (1 to 12 units) Course used for graduate students to complete their dissertations.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. conduct an advanced, independent research project on a chosen topic. 2. discuss research results in the context of the scientific literature. 3. communicate and defend the results of the thesis [or dissertation] research in writing and in oral presentation. 4. articulate and follow ethical principles in a scientific context, including professional standards of laboratory practice, the communication of literature research without plagiarism, the crediting of collaborators and standards for co-authorship, and principles of intellectual property.
