CHI 309 - Chinese Conversation (3 units) Activities for oral proficiency through specific conversational situations. Not intended for native speakers.
Recommended preparation: CHI 212 .

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. communicate effectively on a variety of daily topics in Chinese language and reach intermediate high level according to ACTFL1 Proficiency Guideline. 2. understand and interpret spoken Chinese language on everyday topics from both textbooks and authentic materials at intermediate high level. 3. demonstrate oral language production by means of task-based projects in the form of an in-class presentation and skit, through pair work and group work. 4. show oral language gain through formal language evaluation based on the course rubrics in person and via the online audio learning tool. 5. demonstrate an understanding of the sociocultural context of China through daily oral language practice of Chinese.
