GRI 460 - Intersectionality and Social Justice (3 units) CO10, CO14 Study of intersectional analysis as a tool to research and respond to systems of social inequality and social problems with student-directed work of practical significance.
Prerequisite(s): GRI 103 ; GRI 257 . Recommended Preparation: WMST 250 or ETS 251.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. critically analyze intersectionality theory from an interdisciplinary perspective. 2. apply intersectional analysis to examine laws, policies, and social practices in contemporary society. 3. design, develop, and complete appropriate steps to conduct an application project that uses intersectional analysis and/or methods to address a contemporary social problem. 4. clearly articulate, in writing and orally, how intersectionality theory and methods enable people to make sense of and respond to contemporary social conditions.
