Student Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. describe and analyze challenging ethical issues such as climate change, sustainability, environmental impacts of globalization, biodiversity, and ecological restoration.
2. critically examine how social positions impact competing ethical claims and positions within environmental movements.
3. identify and summarize current challenges, opportunities, and trends that exist in conversations on environmentalism.
4. articulate various ways literary texts represent environmental conditions and contribute to critical debates or theories relevant to environmental movements.
5. communicate their position on an environmental issue citing theories and literature.
