PBH 475 - Epidemiology in Clinical Practice (3 units) CO13 This course provides an overview of the scientific basis for clinical medicine. Emphasis is placed on applying epidemiological principles to clinical practice and supporting evidence-based decision-making. Throughout the course, students will learn to critically evaluate the medical literature and apply these skills to real-world clinical situations and public health scenarios.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. critically evaluate clinical research studies and effectively communicate their appraisals to peers. 2. connect epidemiology to real-world clinical problems and understand the applications of clinical epidemiology in societal context. 3. integrate and synthesize core knowledge while developing critical thinking skills to analyze open-ended clinical problems and other complex issues in medicine.
