NURS 222 - Role of Nursing in Global Health (3 units) CO11 This course provides an introduction to global health issues in nursing with primary focus on global disease burden, health determinants and disparities, health policy and actors, challenges of global health interventions, and the important role nursing plays in addressing these issues.

Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. apply fundamental global health concepts, tools, and frameworks to health disparities across the globe. 2. analyze leading global health challenges to nursing through the lens of cultural, legal, and political differences. 3. integrate analysis, research, and planning into exploration of global health challenges. 4. conduct an evidence-based analysis of a contemporary nursing global health issue. 5. identify the major health organizations that influence global health and disease burden.
