GEOG 438 - Western Water Resources and Management (3 units) CO9 Examination of water issues facing the public, resource manager, and water users in the western U.S., including both water allocation and water quality management.
Prerequisite(s): Completion of CO1-3; ENG 102 ; a college-level MATH course.
Grading Basis: Graded Units of Lecture: 2 Units of Laboratory/Studio: 1 Offered: Every Fall
Student Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 1. explain the terminology, concepts, and regulatory environments that provide the foundation for contemporary water policy and water resources and water quality management in the western U.S. 2. critique and use various sources of information about water allocation and water quality management. 3. demonstrate cogent reasoning methods in examining problems and issues associated with water resources and management in the western U.S.
